On this context, Hlompho Kekana, former captain of the Mamelodi Sundowns, shared his recommendation and insights on what it takes to progress past the group stage and chase the title.

Kekana said: “”I need to say, in a gaggle stage, there isn’t any method. The way you come out of the group stage is completely as much as you. It comes again to the preparation, it comes again to the way you see the group. ”
He added: “Some matches within the Champions League, you can’t win them, , as you would want, however you need to make it possible for the way you put together is one thing that , it’s going to work in your favour. And there is factors which are there, and I imagine within the Champions League, if you wish to have a very good Champions League, make it possible for your own home matches you win them.”

And he concluded: “I simply know that the CAF Champions League is completely different to any competitors within the continent. You do not play the CAF Champions League with expertise, you do not play Champions League with kind. When you keep in mind, Kaizer Chiefs that went to a Champions League remaining. And you may realise that that is the Champions League, you do not play it with kind. It is the way you need it, it is the way you wish to be resilient in some moments”
Throughout his profession with the Sundowns, Kekana performed 345 matches, scored 39 objectives, and offered 22 assists. He gained a number of main titles with the membership, together with the CAF Champions League in 2016, the CAF Tremendous Cup in 2017, in addition to eight South African league championships.
